About
We are “forty something” women who run and women on the run. We aspire to stay in shape, love our families madly, connect with friends (over a book or a movie), and retain our beauty (inside and out). We have jobs that challenge us and lives that demand our constant attention.
It’s a bold pace to keep…and yes, we are running for our lives.
Running has been the key to our sanity. We hit the road to challenge ourselves (and each other) to put in the miles. It makes us strong-spirited women and good “long distance” friends.
Our goal with this blog is to share, inform, encourage, and perhaps inspire in an effort to help us all keep up!

We try to share our favorite things thru links and recommendations. While we may be affiliates (we receive a small % of sale if someone buys the product) with some of these links, we only recommend products and companies that we personally use or have researched carefully.

So glad I found your blog. Love your heading and description. Just getting back into running.
Thanks for checking out my blog! Even though this blog is geared towards women, I’m a huge running fanatic and music and running is something that I think goes hand in hand! Great concept and interesting playlist choices! Keep up the great work!
Hey John, not many people remember ‘Its Okay’ by my band The Kings. Little known fact about that song is that the vocal and instruments sound a bit weird because it was recorded at a slower tempo and then the tape was speeded up to give it more energy. That is why its at 165 BPM. These days you could speed it up without changing pitch, but not back then. Thanks for mentioning us!
Hi John– Thanks for the note! Loved your website at http://thekingsarehere.com/ as well…I’ll add that to the post. Nice to see you guys still have your sense of humor that comes thru so clearly on “It’s Okay”. Congrats on getting the rights to all your songs and w/ #72 of all-time…well deserved! Please keep in touch.
I’ve awarded you the Stylish Blogger Award! The acceptance instructions are on my blog http://motrvls.blogspot.com/2011/01/and-stylish-blogger-award-goes-to.html.
Congratulations
I discovered you website while looking for running songs on iTunes! Your site is great!
Thanks for posting all your work. I am training for a marathon and you helped me find some great music for running.
I found one song not on here, but not sure the bpm. ALthough it seems positive and fun: Something good can work by two door cinema club (the petit bateau edition (4.09min),
Thanks again,
Hi Shannon– Glad to hear and thanks for the note! Like that song by Two Door Cinema Club, but it’s a little slow for running at 121 bpm. Please keep on the lookout for songs and keep in touch…thanks again.
Do you have a list for classical music only ?
Like Mozart, Chopin, Beethoven & Vivaldi.
and I do not mean classic
I will greatly appreciate any classical info.
Thank you
Hi Ronald– Sorry, I love classical music while reading or relaxing, but on a run or when working out it just seems better with a beat. Hard to get BPM w/ classical. Do let us know if you have any suggestions. Thanks for the note.
Ronald– I haven’t checked the bpms, but just found this one specifically for running w/ classical music: http://minnesota.publicradio.org/display/web/2012/01/03/music-for-running-jogging/
